The Nile forced through a six-metre gorge, followed by game drives across Uganda's largest national park.
Murchison Falls is where the entire Nile River is forced through a gap barely six metres wide before dropping into the gorge below — one of the most dramatic single sights on the river's entire length, and the anchor of Uganda's largest national park.
Below the falls, the park's northern savanna holds healthy populations of elephant, giraffe and buffalo, viewed both by vehicle and by a boat safari that approaches the falls from the river itself.
This is a compact itinerary, built for guests who want a short, high-impact Uganda add-on alongside a gorilla trekking or chimpanzee trip.
Journey Highlights
- A boat safari approaching Murchison Falls from the Nile itself
- Game drives across Uganda's largest national park
- A short hike to the top of the falls for a view down the gorge
