Murchison Falls is where the entire Nile River is forced through a gap barely six metres wide before dropping into the gorge below — one of the most dramatic single sights on the river's entire length, and the anchor of Uganda's largest national park.
Below the falls, the park's northern savanna holds healthy populations of elephant, giraffe and buffalo, viewed both by vehicle and by a boat safari that approaches the falls from the river itself.
