Tanzania
Tanzania holds two of the greatest wildlife theatres on the continent, and the two could not be more different in character. The Ngorongoro Crater is a self-contained Eden — a collapsed volcanic caldera whose steep walls keep an entire ecosystem concentrated into a single, walkable-in-a-day floor, dense enough that a full day inside it rarely disappoints even on a quiet week. The Serengeti, in total contrast, is defined by scale: horizon-to-horizon plains that host the single largest overland wildlife migration left on the planet.
Our Tanzania trips run on our own vehicle convoy, not subcontracted local operators, guided by crews who know these plains in every season, migration or not. That matters more than it sounds — a guide who only knows the migration months is a guide who's lost half the time you're actually there. Ours know where the resident game concentrates in the quiet months too.
This is also where our guests spend the most meaningful time with local Maasai communities, arranged through relationships our guides have built over years of repeated visits to the same families rather than a scripted, one-off cultural stop bolted onto a game-drive itinerary.
Arusha, the usual gateway town at the foot of Mount Meru, is a comfortable staging point rather than a destination in its own right — most of Tanzania's draw here is the parks themselves, and our itineraries are built to get you into them quickly.
See Tanzania, Region By Region
Ngorongoro Crater
A collapsed volcanic caldera concentrating an entire ecosystem — lion, elephant, black rhino, hippo — into an area small enough to properly cover in a single unhurried day.
Serengeti National Park
Endless plains that host the Great Migration's herds of wildebeest and zebra, and resident lion prides that stay put whether the migration is passing through or not.
Lake Manyara
A compact, underrated park known for tree-climbing lions and some of the densest birdlife on the whole itinerary, framed by the Rift Valley escarpment.
Arusha
The gateway town at the foot of Mount Meru, and the staging point for every Tanzania trip we run — comfortable rather than a destination in its own right.

Tented Camps On The Serengeti Plains

Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
Our Serengeti camps move with the season rather than sitting fixed in one spot year-round — a practical response to a park defined by migration, where a camp planted permanently in one location eventually finds itself a long drive from the game.
Each camp we use keeps a small guest count and a crew who know the specific stretch of plain they're pitched on, not a rotating staff shipped in from elsewhere. Meals are taken together under canvas, and the fire after dinner tends to run later than planned.
We choose partner camps here the same way we choose our Kenya ones: for the people running them, not the thread count.

Why Our Guides Know Tanzania
Running our own vehicle convoy in Tanzania, rather than leasing space on someone else's, means our guides plan each day's route off the previous evening's radio chatter with other Moseville vehicles already in the park — not a fixed loop decided in an office. That's how a Serengeti game drive ends up following an actual pride's movements instead of a printed itinerary, and how a quiet dry-season week still turns up dense game because the crew knows exactly where the resident wildlife concentrates when the migration has moved on.
Hear From Travellers Who Went To Tanzania
"We told them we cared more about birding than the big cats, and our guide paired us with a driver who could name every raptor we passed without slowing the vehicle down. That kind of local knowledge isn't something you can fake."
"The Maasai village visit was arranged through a relationship our guide has held for years, not a bus-stop photo opportunity. It was the part of the trip we talk about most."
